A New York nursing home left elderly residents to live in "heartbreaking and inhumane" conditions while its owners diverted more than $22 million for themselves, New York Attorney General Letitia James alleged Friday. We also understand choosing a skilled nursing facility is an important and sometimes difficult decision. The term “nursing home,” might make you apprehensive, but we’re not a traditional nursing home.
The operators of Cold Spring Hills used 13 companies to create the appearance that they were paying for services for the nursing home but were in fact diverting Medicaid and Medicare funds to themselves as up-front profit instead of using the funds for resident care. This complex network of companies was also used to hide the real owners of the nursing home and to orchestrate multiple deceptive schemes to extract funds for their personal financial benefit, while disregarding the nursing home’s duty to provide required care. The allegations also include staffing cuts, poor conditions including dirty rooms, inadequate care and financial fraud totaling $22.6 million, money that the state claims owners diverted for themselves from Medicaid and Medicare funds. "Cold Spring Hills' owners put profits over patient care and left vulnerable New Yorkers to live in heartbreaking and inhumane conditions," James said. "From Buffalo to Long Island, every nursing home in New York must abide by laws that require the best care for New Yorkers." I simply HAD to write a review for Buckingham Pavilion and am happy to finally get around to it.

The AHCA Quality Initiative is a national effort to further improve the quality of care in America’s long-term and post-acute care centers to an overall 90% satisfaction rating by March 2021. Earlier this week, Attorney General James sued Fulton Commons nursing home for financial fraud and resident neglect. Last month, Attorney General James filed a lawsuit against The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center, a nursing home in Albion, New York, for years of financial fraud that resulted in significant resident neglect and harm.
They have been taking care of my mother for the past two years and the care that she has received is beyond what I could imagine. They make her feel like she is part of the family and my mother loves interacting with the staff and the other residents that are around her.
